I was told that when a child is teething in Canada, they give the child a cold carrot stick to gnaw on. Allegedly, carrots are not allergenic. Unlike a chew ring, the carrot has flavor and is harder so it feels better on the gums for the teeth to cut through. The child must be supervised and the carrot should be much larger than what can be swallowed. Back
