Week Thirty-Nine...

April 21st, 2008

Had a horrific day trying to find a pediatrician who would examine Cooper in the Daytona Beach area. Sign after sign and place after place said "walk-ins welcome." They should have followed that up with a great big "ALLEGEDLY!" Some were medicaid only. Some only took new patients the middle of next month. Some were chiropractors. Some wanted $179.00 just to walk in the door. All I wanted was for someone to check him out (especially his ears) and let me know if he had the "all clear" to fly to Chicago!
Finally, at about 8pm we found the nice people at (I think) "Twilight Pediatrics" (I'll get back on that when I find their business card). They were reasonably priced and nice...and quick! The pediatrician let me look into his ears and told me what I was looking at and how nice it looked. It was cool. Oh...AND they had great toys. (Notice how Cooper abandoned "Obnoxious Duck" on the floor.) It was the happiest he had been all day! (Me, too.)
